A Royal Wedding

I got up at the crack of dawn yesterday to watch the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. I can honestly say that I never thought much about the Royal family of England until the recent engagement but like many, I was sucked into the the fairy tale of commoner meets royalty, the anticipation of the dress and the pomp and circumstance of it all. It was fun to watch and they seem very happy (like I know them...). But I hope (like I hope for anyone) they have a long happy marriage. I did snap a few of my own pictures to commemorate the day.

Jimmy is obviously thrilled with the royal wedding:

Easter

Easter Sunday did not go as planned. My poor little buddy woke up with a stomach bug :(. He was not at all interested in his Easter basket or candy. He was supposed to sing with his Sunday school class this morning (his first performance EVER) but he ended up staying home with daddy and I went to church with Cecilia. Cecilia and went to Gin Gin's for lunch and my parents were there as well. I hope that it is just short 24 hour bug!

Hunting Eggs...

Jimmy should be an expert at hunting eggs. He went egg hunting at church last week, egg hunt at school and then the annual Mahfet/Schivera egg hunt in Hull park this morning. Cecilia had her first egg hunt this morning. She would pick up an egg, open it and then put the contents in her basket and through the empty egg back on the ground. She knows what is important.

Jimmy had today (Good Friday) off and he got a ton of stuff done! Now that we have taken our house off the market (did I mention that?) we are on to projects. The first project is the get the deck island out of the back yard. Long story, but there is a deck smack dab in the center of the back yard and it is taking up so much valuable play space. Jimmy got half of it up today and the yard already looks bigger. Before and after pics to follow.

Cecilia is a big waver. She loves to wave hi and bye. She loves to shout hi and bye. Her hi is more like "hey." She kept shouting "HEY" and waving to our neighbors yard man. She walked around to people at the egg hunt saying hi and bye. She sometimes waves bye when I put her to bed. So adorable!

Fun weekend

Had a great time this past weekend. Met up with Molly, a high school and college friend, and her sisters and mom. They were in town for a girls weekend and I was so glad they took some time to spend with me. They literally came from all over! Molly from London, her mom from VA, sisters from CA and OH. Molly is also a fellow blogger and I cannot believe we didn't take one picture! We were having too much fun chatting and catching up.

I worked most of the day Saturday but Saturday night was a real treat! We went on a friends boat to Bona Bella and had a fabulous time. I love a boat ride!

Sunday I went to the Tim McGraw concert with Kelly, Maria and Ginny. So much fun! We had great seats on the floor and at one time we were so close! A few pics from the night.

We've got a climber...

I just ordered this yesterday:

Yes that is a crib tent. She started escaping from the pack and play at my parents house yesterday. I thought that maybe she wouldn't be able to climb out of the crib but last night I found her wandering around in her room. We put her back in the crib and watched her on the monitor and she fell asleep. This morning when I woke up she was still fast asleep in her crib (with the couch cushions below!). I heard a little wake up noise and looked at the monitor again and the camera had been moved. We ran upstairs and she greeted us at the door. Little stinker! I just put her down for her nap and when I left I saw her try to hike her leg up and I very sternly yelled "NO MA'AM!" and she started crying and then fell down and went to sleep. We ordered the tent last night and the fastest we could get it was tomorrow. There is NO WAY I am going to try to the toddler bed at 18 months. Gotta try the tent first. We'll see how it goes.

Motivation

Okay. I have a confession. I think that one reason I haven't been blogging as much is because I haven't been doing all of the things I have written about over the past year. For example:

Running. I haven't been running. I REALLY want to do the Rock and Roll half marathon but I must get my butt in gear. I did receive some great motivation in the mail yesterday. A new Under Armour workout shirt from Maggie for my birthday. Maybe she noticed that I haven't been blogging lately and not running either and she knew I needed a little motivation. Jimmy, Cecilia and I walked to Jimmy's school this morning and then took a nice long walk. Walking isn't running but my jogging stroller was acting all wonky when I tried to run.

Thanks Maggie!

Yoga. I haven't been doing much of that either. I really liked it but I have been lazy. Jimmy gave me a gift certificate to Savannah Power Yoga for my birthday so yet another little gift of motivation. Is he trying to tell me something.

School. I have kind of been slacking this semester. I was so burned out from last semester that this semester seems so easy in comparison that I haven't put in as much effort.

Blogging. Obviously haven't been doing much of that and I also haven't been taking many pictures.

Pictures. Need to take more pictures.

I could give all kinds of excuses but I have been lazy!

Off to yoga...

This picture just cracks me up. She looks like she is 18 months or 80. Of course, she gives the cheese face!

March

March has been a busy month! It started off with our trip at the beginning of the month and then followed by probably the most important holiday in Savannah- St. Patrick's Day! Yes, it is a holiday for many in Savannah. SCAD always has given us the day off which is a nice little surprise in the middle of the month. Mainly because you cannot get anything done downtown so it is just easier to close up shop for the day and join in on the fun. Jimmy and his buddy Matthew got up SUPER EARLY to get us a prime location on one of the squares. You cannot set up your stuff until 6am and Jimmy and Matthew were there at 430am! It was totally worth it. All of the kids had a front row seat to all of the fun.

Jimmy went on a short boys trip to Lake Keowee (near Clemson, SC) to visit with some of his friends from college. Some of them he hadn't seen in over 15 years. Their golf game got rained out but I think they managed to have a good time!

I celebrated the big 33 on Thursday. We had a nice family celebration and Jimmy and I were able to go out to dinner which was nice.

The weather is beautiful in Savannah right now. The azaleas are in full bloom and everything is so green. It would be perfect if we didn't have the pollen or the gnats! Crazy how sometimes you end up wishing for the hot weather so the gnats will go away! We enjoyed the nice weather this weekend and had a picnic at Fort Pulaski, a civil war fort on the way to Tybee.

Jimmy has also gotten into drawing more and this is one of his pictures of our family. Daddy is the big guy in the middle.

Here are just few other pics of us having fun! Cecilia is finally getting some hair and it is curly. So adorable but I have no idea how to take care of curly hair! The other day the back of her hair (where it is the longest) was a little frizzy from her nap and little Jimmy said "I want her curl back."

or maybe not so much fun...
