Golden Birthday!

Today is my golden birthday! 31 on the 31st. I had some yummy Bakers Pride donuts this morning. Jimmy also got me a birthday cake from there for later. Little Jimmy wanted to eat is so bad at 730am that I let him stick his finger in the icing for a little taste. He also loved the card Jimmy gave me that played music when you opened it. He thinks all cards should play music. He was looking at a card that a friend sent and opened it and said "no noise." We had a yummy office breakfast and tonight we are going to the Olde Pink House for dinner with Ginny and Marty. Yeah, birthdays are so FUN!!

Yard Sale report

The rain held off and our yard sale was a success. We ended up making around $250 and got rid of a lot of stuff. The yard sale started at 8, but the "early birds" came a little before 730. Luckily, we got up early and started setting up. Around 930am, "Sammy the price slasher" (aka: Jimmy with a sharpie) came out and started slashing prices. You only have a small window to get everything sold and if it didn't get sold it was going to Goodwill, so our price slashing worked, led to little haggling from the seasoned yard sale pros and a only a little leftover to take to Goodwill.

Our favorite part of the yard sale were the two girls across the street who decided to set up a lemonade stand to capitalize on the traffic of our usually quiet street. Who can resist these cuties?? and at 10 cents a cup, it's a deal! She said she made $14 and that she was going to buy something for her little sister. Jimmy and I always say that if we pass a lemonade stand that we HAVE to stop and buy a cup, it always makes their day and yours too!

I won!!

So I was the high bidder and won the Easter outfit for Jimmy! I paid a whopping $11.49. Perfect to wear once or twice at Easter. It was kind of exciting that I won...and little scary because I am thinking "okay, what do should I buy next???" I will be sure to post a picture of him in the outfit after Easter. Now just need to get him some shoes. I have no idea what I will be wearing, but who cares right? As long as Jimmy looks cute!

Time for a new 'do

I decided yesterday that it was time for a change...I need a new stylist. I've been going to the same guy for the past 3 or 4 years and he has started to drive me a little crazy with his drama so I was thinking it was time to try someone different. I also wanted something downtown so I could go on my lunch hour. Since our office moved a couple of months ago I noticed this nice salon across the street. They sell Bare Essentuals make-up, which I use, so I went in yesterday to get some foundation. As I was walking out I saw a co-worker and friend getting her hair done. Come to find out, she went to the same guy I did and also wanted a change. I made an appointment yesterday at JW Salon.

My appointment isn't until late April since I just got my hair cut recently but I am looking forward to it. Thinking of going shorter for spring/summer.

Ebay

I made a bid on ebay yesterday for only the second time in my life! Once was in college when I wanted a Kate Spade wallet, but it still ended up being more than I could afford! This time I placed a bid on an Easter outfit for Jimmy. I am a sucker for cute jon-jons with smocking or appliques. Little Jimmy has a closet to die for thanks to my mom who works at the Robyn's Nest she keeps him looking adorable. i wanted a cute Easter outfit, but didn't want to spend $60 bucks on something that he would only wear once so I turned to Ebay and found a cute Bailey Boys jon-jon with a bunny applique. I think the auction ends in 2 days so let's hope I win!

Yard Sale!

We are planning a yard sale. We had a yard sale when we moved from 52nd Street to Isle of Hope and actually did quite well and it was kind of fun. With the renovations, moving Jimmy's room upstairs eventually, and the accumulation of stuff (toys, baby items, etc) we need to get rid of other stuff. I am not moving anything back upstairs unless I absolutely LOVE it or NEED it. Our dining room is currently full of stuff that needs to go! You know, those boxes that have been toted around since college...it all needs to go! We have been going through everything for the past couple of weeks and figuring out what to sell, trash or save. I kind of feel like we are on TLC's Clean Sweep! I have been pricing things with most things around $1 and we have a few pieces of furniture and other larger items that we hope to get a little more. I am going to put an add in the paper that will run on Friday and Saturday and maybe advertise on Craigslist (everyone is telling me that is a great place...though I have never used it before).

Last time we had a yard sale, once it was later in the afternoon, we started slashing the prices or having a buy one get one free. It was kind of funny and it got rid of all the little junk that was left after the "real" yard salers are gone (you know, the early birds that are parked outside of your house at 6am before you get your stuff out!). Last time, Jimmy even managed to give away my old computer monitor from school to a woman who was kind of driving by and looking, but really didn't get out of her car. We just said "it's free!" and he opened her van door and put it in. She didn't seem to mind. Hopefully someone is using it.

I will be sure to report how things go on Saturday. Maybe we will make enough to go out to a nice dinner or something!

St. Patty's in Savannah

I think Savannah has the best St. Patty's celebration! The festivities pretty much kicked off last night. I could tell on Wednesday that the spring breakers (aka the skinny tan college kids with no worries but to party!) were starting to arrive and that is the key sign that St. Pats is right around the corner. I went up to Driftaway last night with Maria, Laura and Carrie and listened to the Chuck Courtenay band and today we went to Tybee for their St. Patty's parade. It was COLD, but it was a nice parade. A mini-version of the one on Tuesday. Here are a couple of pics from today. You can't see Jimmy's cute green shirt and sweater, but trust me, you would have wanted to pinch him just because he was so darn cute!

Renovations complete!

Yay! We are finally back in our house after almost a month of living with my parents and Jimmy's parents while we had our family room redone and the stairs going upstairs redone. We are so excited with the outcome. It makes our house live much bigger and before too much longer Jimmy will be upstairs in his big boy room. I was thinking maybe this summer but just yesterday he climbed into his crib so I am thinking it won't be too much longer until he climbs out!
