Disney, baby!

Well it seems as though it has become an annual thing to take a trip to Disney in January. This time the WHOLE family took part in the Disney fun. My parents, along with Jimmy's parents and his sister and her family trekked to Disney for a few days. This time we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and visited the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. We did a character dinner with Mickey and friends and Jimmy and Amelia loved it while Cecilia wasn't so sure. Jimmy wasn't a fan of any of the loud and scary noises but Amelia was a trooper and would do just about anything!

Are you there Katie? It's me, blog

Lately, I haven't had much motivation to blog. There seems to be so much going on right now. With a house on the market it is virtually impossible to keep our house tidy. It is amazing how a clean house looks like a disaster area in just a matter of a few minutes. Work and school have also been keeping me busy, but my sweet little 15 month old (who I found had climbed on the couch and then onto the side table the other day) is a little maniac that needs constant attention. I feel worn out.

But, I am now typing on my new HP Laptop!

We really needed a laptop for me to use for school and then for us to take when we go away. We just got back from our annual January Disney trip (pics forthcoming) and felt completely disconnected. We saw an add for a great deal on this HP laptop at Best Buy so we got it yesterday. It must have been a good deal because they only had 4 left by the time Jimmy got there. We love our desktop Mac, but the Mac book was just a little more than we wanted to spend right now. This HP will get the job done and hopefully, get me back to blogging more.

Finally...Christmas!

September to December is crazy for us...so not much time for blogging. Add in a little almost-14-month-old maniac who needs constant attention, there isn't much time for anything. I can't recall the last time I washed my hair??? Thank GOD for the flat iron, it makes unwashed hair look somewhat presentable..but I digress... Jimmy does a lot of business in the 4th quarter so he is pretty much working 7 days a week during the holiday season. I am so THANKFUL that he had a good holiday season despite the economic situation. He did such a great job making this fall be one of the best! I won't go into all the business details but I am really proud of him. Owning your own business is not easy and sometimes I wish he just had a "regular" job with the guaranteed salary, benefits, etc BUT he is only limited by himself and the opportunities are endless. He feels so fortunate because I am sure a lot of people would like to own their own business but it really isn't easy...healthcare, taxes...I could go on and on but I don't think he would want to do anything else. I also feel fortunate to work at SCAD. Working part-time has been the best thing for me and my family. I really can't say enough about SCAD and how much they mean to me.

Oh yeah...Christmas. Sorry! Just thought a little explanation of what has been going on was necessary. Not really for the benefit of the people reading my blog, but for myself when I look back on this years from now. Christmas was fantastic. Having a four year old at Christmas is so much fun. We did the "Elf on the Shelf" this year and our elf "Cookie" appeared in a different place each morning after coming back from the North Pole reporting to Santa whether Jimmy was a good boy or a naughty boy. Of course, he was a good boy this year. I will let the pics speak for themselves, but it was just a great time filled with family, friends and fun!

Are we already getting to the "I don't want to stand too close to my sister" age?

So sweet! Love her dress. The amount of Christmas outfits were ridiculous thanks to Mimi and her part time job at the Robyn's Nest. I don't know why she even gets a paycheck.

I asked Jimmy what he wanted to say to Santa and he said "I hope you have a good time" and then he signed his name.

Looks like Santa came!

It's a pillow...it's a pet...it's a pillow pet.

First crown.

Cousins!

On the market!

I am a real estate stalker. Constantly looking at what is for sale, what has been sold and for how much. Both of our house purchases-Ardsley Park and Isle of Hope have been little gems in need of some TLC but they have both had one thing in common...location! We are pretty much done with the major changes and updates we had planned so we have decided to put it on the market and see what happens. We all know the real estate market these days and the outlook continues to be pretty grim, but we really don't have anything to lose. We like our house and location but a little more space would be nice. We know our next house will likely need some updating and TLC but we are used to that! Praying to St. Joseph right now...
