My little Hulk Hogan
Last week Jimmy got another "not myself today" at mother's morning out. This is his second one in a row! He was once again aggressive with another kid. The teacher told me that while they were playing outside he was inside the playhouse and didn't want another kid to come in so he pushed him...no wait...that isn't the aggressive part, believe it or not...so the teacher said the next time she turned around she saw my sweet little Jimmy with the kid in a headlock and hitting him with his shoe which he had taken off! I couldn't believe it! Come to find out my dad was wrestling with lil Jim and did the "sleeper hold" and I guess Jimmy wanted to practice on his friend at school. Though, I don't know where the shoe came in. I was horrified, but now can laugh at it. He got a happy face on Thursday so hopefully it is just a phase...
Happy Halloween
We had a great Halloween! Little Jimmy was dressed as Elmo, his favorite Sesame Street character. We went over to our friends house for some pre-Halloween festivities and then did a little trick or treating on Isle of Hope and on Bluff Drive. Bluff Drive was crazy. Almost like a little Halloween festival in itself. Plus, the candy they hand out isn't too bad either. Jimmy was a little hesitant to go up to the houses, but when I told him that he would get a treat he happily walked up to the door and said "tick or teat." He was so cute! Plus he got to eat candy so he was a happy little Elmo. Here are a few pics.

Not so good news...
Jimmy got his first "not myself" report from school with a note "little aggressive today." This is the second time they said he was aggressive. Not my sweet little Jimmy...right? Oh no!
Good News!
I just found out this morning that I was accepted to graduate school at Georgia Southern University. I am planning to pursue the M.Ed in Higher Education Administration and hope to begin classes in the spring. It might take me a few years, but I am excited to get started.
Visit to VA
I took a road trip last week with my parents and little Jimmy to NoVA and the Charlottesville area. I hadn't been back home in so long that I psyched myself up for the long road trip and decided to tag along and I am so glad that I did! The car ride was full of lots of books, snacks and DVDs (Wiggles). We saw my brother Joey, who lives in Leesburg, old family friends, Louie and Vicki Saunders, visited with Matt Oblas and his son Caleb and even his dad stopped by (our old hs school vice principal) which was a fun surprise. We also visited with Jennifer (Herberger) Lee and Heather (Phillips) Greenbaum and their children-Brayden and Madison and Tyson and Dorian. We met up at Jennifer's parents house and also got to visit with Mrs. Herberger. What a fun time we all had reminiscing about middle and high school and trying to figure out how we got so old and now have kids???? Crazy. I will try to post a pic of all of us. We drove by our old house and stopped by the park in Hamilton and little Jimmy played. It was funny to think that I helped build the playground almost 22 years ago to the date. Seeing the old town and sidewalks made me think how I used to ride my bike all over the neighborhood and town visiting great friends and neighbors.
We headed down to Charlottesville area on Saturday. I was a little bummed because I didn't get to go into Chville but there was a football game and the timing just didn't work out. But-we did take a little trip to Barboursville Vineyard and got some VA wine! Yum! and then spent the late afternoon at my parents friends house in Ruckersville. That area is truly a beautiful part of Virginia and I think that if I didn't live in Savannah I would live there. The leaves were magnificent! At least to me...it has been a long time since I have seen fall. We crammed a lot in a little amount of time and I didn't get to see everyone I would have like, but hopefully I will be back there again. Won't be too long before our 15 year hs reunion or 10 year college reunion.

Amelia Parks Phillips
Amelia has arrived!! She arrived on September 23, 2008 at 930am. She weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces. We got a message early on Tuesday that Ginny was in the hospital. We dropped little Jimmy off at my parents and headed to Atlanta. We arrived around 11am. She is such a precious little baby and we are so excited that she is here. Here are some pics of the little angel and her proud aunt and uncle.

Waiting on Amelia
We are still awaiting Amelia's arrival, she was supposed to come on Saturday and much to her mother's dismay she has decided to stay nice and cozy a little while longer. Ginny said she was getting some paperwork together and serve her an eviction notice.
Also, I am thinking about pimping my blog.

The Sun will Come out Tomorrow
Yesterday we went over the the B. Smith's for dinner and to watch some football. The older kids organized a show, complete with costumes, tickets, orchestra and an audience. The music was provided by the adults while Ash accompanied on the pink guitar. Here are some pics from opening night.

Jimmy the Builder
Little Jimmy has a extreme love for trucks, tractors and buses. It is a daily car game to see if who can spot them first. There is a large construction project going on by my parents house so they have visited these tractors and trucks often and Jimmy finally got to see them up close and personal. It was a big day!

Ginny's Baby Shower in Atlanta
I just got back from a weekend in Atlanta, sans big and lil Jimmy (they had a boys weekend) for my sister-in-law's baby shower. I headed north with Jimmy's mom, Sister (yes, her name is Sister, well, actually Louise, but everyone calls her Sister, for those of you who may not know her) and Marty's mom, Marsha. Some of you may remember that Marty and Ginny got married back in October, but just to set the record straight, they were married for 11 weeks before they were pregnant! We are all just so thrilled for little Amelia Parks Phillips to make her arrival in September (around the 20th).
Patti Young and her daughters-Kelly York and Kate and Sarah Blackwell hosted a lovely shower at the Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta. Lots of special people came including her aunts Judy and Clara, long time family friends Carol McNeel and Daisy Richardson and many friends from Atlanta and Savannah too. Ginny got lots of great stuff to help prepare for the arrival of her little one. I have to mention one special gift that Aunt Judy gave Ginny--it was one of two silver feeding spoons that Ginny and Jimmy's grandmother Louise used to feed her grandchildren. What special gift!
I have posted a few pictures from the shower. Ginny and the Blackwell girls sure have a mean tan going on this summer!

Our week in Destin
We just got back from a week long vacation in Destin, Florida with Jimmy's parents (Sister and Jim) and his sister and her husband (Ginny and Marty and baby Amelia due in Sept.) and we had a great time! We have taken a family trip for the past 5 or 6 years and we usually go just a few hours south of Savannah to either St. Augustine or Amelia Island but this year we decided to venture to the gulf coast and check out their white sand beaches and beautiful clear blue water and we were not disappointed. The ride was a little longer and with an 18-month old it is hard to know how it will go, but little Jimmy was a trooper there and back. Thank God he loves trucks, buses, tractors, etc as it was a constant game of pointing them out along the way. We read lots of books and could not have lived without the DVD player and some Baby Einstein videos.
We rented a great house just a few steps from the beach. We had some rain on Sunday and Monday, but the rest of the week the weather was perfect. I was a little concerned that it would be super crowded for the 4th weekend, but the location of our place was fabulous (walking distance to the grocery and to the outlets!) so we didn't have to battle the traffic much. We just relaxed, shopped, spent time at the beach and hung out and had lots of fun. We also visited the gallery of folk artist Woodie Long in Grayton Beach.
We didn't have to fight the traffic to see the fireworks, we were able to see lots of shows from the beach and our house.
One of our favorite quotes of the week was overheard from the large group sitting next to us on the beach and one of the fathers said to his child..."I ain't giving out no more warnings...I am just going to start tearing up some tail!" Needless to say, we also encountered some interesting people this week.

Lynne's Wedding
We recently had a wonderful photographer, Christine Hall (www.christinehallphotography.com) take some pictures of our family. They will probably be up for the next couple of days so if you have some time take a look at the slideshow.
