Under Construction...
We are finally fixing our stairs that go to our second floor! Anyone who has been to our house knows what a weird house it is...but in a GREAT location. Or at least I think so. A short walk from our house and we are right on the ICW and Isle of Hope is about as small town as you can get in a city like Savannah. BUT, with the great location and our limited budget we had to buy a house that we needed to do some work to make it "ours." Our main issue has always been the stairs that go to a second floor addition that was added in the 80's. I think it was a DIY kind of project and although the extra space is nice, the stairs were extremely steep, with a very high rise and you would hit your head on the ceiling when going up and down. Our eventual goal is to move little Jimmy's room upstairs and turn his room into a play room. BUT, major construction means we can't live at our house so we have been "homeless" for a week and spending time at my parents house and Jimmy's parents house. It will all be worth it in the end and I will post some before and after pics once it is all done!

The Middle Place
The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan is our most recent pick for book club. I say book club, but it is more of an excuse for us to get together and chat, eat and drink wine! Some read the book, others don't finish and some don't read at all, but that isn't the point, though, you probably would think it would. I think with our busy lives-kids, work, and so much more, it is best to have a reason to get together (book club, card night), even if you just sit around talking and catching up. The book epitomizes where many of us now 30-somethings are in lives-the middle place. So, I picked it up at Target yesterday and finished it yesterday. I even read it in the drive thru line at Chick-fil-a can be long on Mall Blvd on Friday at 1230. I read while Jimmy napped and I admit, even put on a few episodes of Imagination Movers and read and then finished after he went to bed. It literally made me laugh and cry.
