Great Books

This is one of our favorite books. There are several in the Pigeon series by Mo Willems. Knuffle Bunny is a great one too. They are funny and you don't mind reading them over and over!

Moving!

When I go in the office today I will be going to a new building! After 8 years of being in the same place they are moving us to a new building with more room and closer to other offices we work with on a daily basis. I am sad to leave but excited about a little bit of change! I have to thank Kelly for packing all of our stuff up since I was out sick yesterday with the stomach bug. She's the best job share partner (and friend!).

What a weekend.

This was quite a weekend! Little Jimmy woke up with the stomach bug at 2am on Sunday morning and then I got it on Monday! Yuck, but we are all feeling much better. Sunday, my neice Amelia was baptized and so it was great to have Ginny, Marty and Amelia in town and even better, they are moving back to Savannah!! We are just so excited to have them closer and I think it will be great for Jimmy to have his aunt, uncle and cousin close by. I also turned in my first paper for grad school so interested to see how that goes and to hear the feedback from my professor. It is so interesting how different it is to study something that you are actually doing as a job. Here is a pic from the baptism:

Disney...Take Two!

This past Wed-Sun we spent in Disney World with my parents. We went the same time last year when Jimmy was one and had a good time but he was still too little to understand and did not like the characters at all (see below!). This year...what a difference! He has discovered the Disney channel and we have several books, stickers, sippy cups, plates, etc that are Disney related so he was in heaven. He had the best time and we had the best time watching him. He loved the characters and didn't understand why he could do everything "again." Darn movies, DVR and on demand. He has no idea what it is like to have to wait for your favorite cartoon to come on and if you missed it, oh well! We made it to the Magic Kingdom (he slept through the parade, even when the marching band came by), Hollywood Studios (our favorite was the Playhouse Disney Live and the character greetings) and Animal Kingdom (he loved the Safari!). We didn't make it to Epcot this year. It is amazing how different it is going with a child than going with older kids or as adults. We also did a character breakfast with Mickey and his pals. It was so much fun and I can't wait to go back!

Dumbo!

I've got some catching up to do...

Wow! It has been way too long since I have blogged!! Come November, our life gets a little crazy and hectic as Jimmy gears up for the busy season at Spices Etc. and Mo Hotta Mo Betta. So, as not to bore anyone (mostly myself since I don't think anyone reads this) I'll do a quick recap. We spent Thanksgiving in West Point, Ga with Jimmy's extended family. It is always a fun time with lots of kids and this time was no different. Little Jimmy was a trooper on the car ride (thanks to the DVD player!) and it was a quick trip for just one night. Once we got back Jimmy worked non-stop for the next month and both companies had a great holiday season!

We had a 2nd birthday party for little Jimmy on December 7th. We had a critter party and the critter lady came and brought lots of fun, furry animals for the kids to touch, hold and feel. Little Jimmy was hesitant at first but warmed up to a little bunny. We had several of his friends over and everyone had a great time. I tried my hand at some fun cupcakes decorated to look like lions and monkeys. Luckily, I had a book that told me everything I needed to do. I am not that creative, just good with directions. Little Jimmy got lots of fun things for his birthday...a basketball hoop, a Leap Frog learning pad, books and a Tigger Pooh and friends treehouse.

Then before we knew it, it was Christmas! It was a wonderful Christmas and little Jimmy really enjoyed all the wonder of it all (or maybe it was all of the treats Christmas brings...). He liked to sing songs like "Santa Claus is coming to town" and "Frosty the Snowman." We enjoyed a nice Christmas at home and Santa was good to little Jimmy! When we would ask Jimmy what he wanted Santa to bring to him he would always say "M&M's!" He was certainly a good little boy this year so Santa brought him some M&Ms in a fun gumball machine. He got lots and lots of presents...thanks to grandparents, Santa, mom and dad and aunt and uncle. I think he was a little sad once all of the present opening was done!

Once Christmas was over we could relax and breathe a little. Big Jim was around more and we enjoyed having him home on the weekends again. He even built a fence for our front yard! I am so excited and proud of him! I will soon have the white picket fence. We had a fun NYE hanging out with friends, but have to say we were a little exhausted and went to bed before the new year! Oh...I sound like I am getting old!

We are looking forward to a fun January with a wedding of a college friend of Jimmy's in Atlanta and then to Disney World over the MLK holiday. Here are a few pics from Jimmy's bday and Christmas.
