Circus and Smiles

Jimmy had his first program at school. It was a Circus and full of elephants, lions, tightrope walkers, weight lifters, bear hunters and of course clowns. Jimmy's class did an elephant act and then all the boys were lions that jumped through "fiery ring" (aka hula hoop with streamers). Jimmy ended his jump with a ferocious ROAR!

They sent a note home saying that the boys could dress up like a lion, clown or other circus character. I knew I would not get him in any costume unless it was Spider-Man, and I don't think he was in the circus, so we went with the t-shirt below. Doesn't every circus have a one-eyed monster?

On another note...some new pics of Cecilia. Every time I try to take a picture this is the face I get:

She could be playing and as soon as I snap a picture, I get the "cheese" face. It's still cute. She is starting to say some words like thank you, please, bye, juice and kitty. It has been really interesting to see how different she and Jimmy have been as babies. When Jimmy was a baby he would sit on my lap and let me rock him at night but Cecilia does not want to be rocked and when I put her in her bed for night time she just stands there, waves and says "Bye!" My little independent gal! Makes me a little sad she doesn't want to rock and cuddle but she goes straight to bed and doesn't fuss!

Yoga

I did my first official yoga class today. I am still fitting in running when I can so that I can hopefully do the Rock and Roll half marathon in Savannah in November but I have realized that I want to try something to build my strength and calm my mind. After an INSANE week a couple of weeks ago which involved me messing up my passport application one day, backing up over my brand new UPPAbaby umbrella stroller the next and then getting out of my car only to realize that it was still in drive and started inching forward that I realized that I need to try something that might benefit my over all mind and body. With the encouragement of a very experienced yogi and friend, I went to Power Hour this morning at 6am! For my first class, I didn't do too shabby I don't think. I didn't have to sit in child's pose because I wasn't able to do any of the positions. I may have been a few seconds behind and I may have had to modify a few poses but I held my own. The teacher was so helpful and encouraging. I really have found that with any type of exercise (yoga or running) the experienced ones have NEVER made a beginner feel like an idiot. I guess everyone was a beginner at one time and remembers what it feels like. Everyone also remembers what it feels like to accomplish something that took some work.
