Is it just me, or isn't Halloween supposed to be Oct. 31?

Well, apparently half of Savannah and our county government think it should be on Oct. 30 (today) instead of tomorrow, Sunday. Oh, how I could go on ranting and raving about this decision that was made on Monday, less than a week before Halloween. They claim it was for the children so they could have longer to trick or treat, but the public schools are off on Monday, Nov. 1, yet the private schools are not. Today is the GA/FL game which is bigger than any religion down here. It really was a religious and politically motivated decision if you ask me (and they didn't, which is why I have definitely been filling the inboxes of the chairman and our district commissioner.) Hey, I'll click the "I Like Jesus" button on Facebook, but if they were going to make this decision they should have done it months ago. Still, I probably would have thought it was weird, but sometimes those are the kinds of things that make the south charming and quirky.

So, this whole Halloween mess made the NYTimes. Nice. So, I would like to write a little letter to the people of NY.

Dear NY,

People in Savannah are not as idiotic as our county government officials.

Sincerely,

Katie Kelley

Fun!

This past weekend my friend Lori turned 40! A few of her friends planned a fun excursion downtown which included a scavenger hunt and then dinner at Sapphire Grill! My team "Or Not" did not win, but we sure had a lot of fun! It was a great idea for a birthday celebration.

Here is a photo of one of our scavenger hunt finds, Marilyn Monroe in City Market. Lori was not on our team, but we had "Flat Lori" join us!

This pic was taken with my new Droid Incredible! I seriously have a crush on my new phone.

Singin' in the Rain

One day last week it rained most of the day, but it was the kind of rain that makes you want to play, and so we did!

Some of the pics are blurry because he wouldn't stand still for a second; he was having too much fun running around.

Meet Jack

We hopped in the car Saturday morning and drove to Charlotte to visit with Whitney and John and meet baby Jack! Jack is three months old and such a sweet little baby! Jimmy III had a great time and loved staying in the hotel room. I wished we lived closer, but I am so happy we got to see them if only for a short time.

He is obviously a bit upset about Virginia's loss. He'll get used to it.

Happy Birthday Papa!

Starting with Amelia in September, we have a string of birthday celebrations. Cecilia is October, Ginny's new baby (gender unknown!) will be Nov, Jimmy III and my mom are December.

We celebrated Papa's birthday this past weekend. Happy Birthday, we love you!
