Now if you recall, Jimmy did very well in "big" church last week. Of course, besides asking if he could watch a Spider-Man movie in church.
Well, this week, we were a little too confident and sat a little too close. Jimmy kept talking and during the prayer he asked if maybe next time he could wear his Spider-Man costume to church. He's worn it pretty much everywhere the past week. But church? Umm. No. I took him outside to explain we must be quiet when others are talking or praying. We went back to our seat. Then during another prayer he decided to say rather loudly that he was hungry and thirsty and wanted a peanut butter sandwich. Back outside we go. I found some comfort in another friend who was there with her 3 year old who wanted to lay in the aisle with her dress over her head.
Next week we are going to try the back of the church or we might have to go balcony. Now I understand why my parents always sat in the balcony at St. Francis De Sales (the little one) in Purcellville. Amazing how as a mom you figure out why your parents did the things they did when you were a kid.
